Daniel lived in 'Long Hill' district of Middletown, upon a farm given to him by his father, which after his death his father (John) sold to Ephraim Adkins, for the benefit of Daniel's three daughters, his only children.
Note Estate Inventory 1736:
An inventory of the estate of Daniel was taken on Dec. 15, 1736 by Joseph Starr Jr, William Rockwell and Charles Hamlin. Esther, his wife, requested that the courts set out for her a dowry. The court appointed Joseph Southmayd Lt., John Bacon and Jacob Cornwell to set out to the widow her right to a dowry in said estate. The court allowed Esther and Jabez Hamlin to sell land to pay the debts. (probate court records)
Note Remarriage 1738:
At the time of her husband’s estate inventory presentation Esther requested that the courts set out funds for her to have a dowry. The court appointed Joseph Southmayd Lt., John Bacon and Jacob Cornwell to set out to the widow her right to a dowry in said estate. The court allowed Esther and Jabez Hamlin to sell land to pay the debts. (probate court records). After she remarried to Thomas Rand they removed to Hartford, Windsor Co., Vermont.
