Welcome!

Please regard this a project “in-progress” for it is still being updated as information comes in for recording and publishing from correspondence with genealogical sources...there is SO MUCH data! For many family branches there were additional generations further back in time I could have recorded on this site. Although I felt it was best not to continue adding generations here for our ancestors to save web server space and time creating more pages. If you wish this additional information please feel free to contact me. I encourage you to share this data with family relatives and add your own branches for your children!

Be sure to check back often

BIG changes coming soon to this site. I have been compiling tons of additional data and sources for 90% of the information on this site now over the last 3 years. I have so much it is time to get a chunk of it posted.

Navigation areas of this site utilize “fly out” menus to easily get right to the ancestor page you are interested with viewing. Just move your cursor over a button and if there are additional pages within that section they will...fly out for you to navigate!

There are many pages on this site which utilize Pop-Up Windows. Please set your browser to accept these types of windows for this site.

I must tell you that as you browse through my ancestral file you will notice that there is consistently a “source gap” for validating data. This source is the 1890 US Federal Census. I have learned that most of the 1890 census records were destroyed in a fire at our nation’s capital. It has caused quite a bit of frustration locating the whereabouts of an ancestor during that 20 year period as the US Federal Census records are full of so much information about a family. Thankfully there were some state census records during the off years between Federal Census taking that have provided locating and verifying an ancestors migration through life. Additionally I am adding area specific historical information related to our ancestors where they have suddenly “disappeared” or cause of death was not discovered or where several died in a short period of time. I thought it would be helpful to try and speculate about the possibilities.

During my research I discovered that many of our ancestors named their offspring with the same name as their fathers, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, mothers, grandmothers etc. for sometimes up to 8 generations! So I have added a I, II, III, IV, V and so on to male individuals within a surname family group where this is found.

Downloading the GEDCOM file has some drawbacks. First, all genealogical software programs are not created equal, there is no standardization of data categories transferred when you import to your genealogical software. Be especially cautious with selecting the fields of data being transferred to ensure they correspond in subject matter. Second, this means that the additional data, notes, or information I have on an individual ancestor’s page are not always included. I recommend downloading the PDF files I have for each individual ancestor to add the detailed information I have included on this web site.
